I recently tried the text messaging function and selected Verizon as my provider as well as listed my number where required. However, when I tried it to see if it worked correctly, I didn't receive any messages. I found this community and checked in other Verizon posts and realized that the messages are delivered to number@vtext. Then I figured that since I'm from Puerto Rico, I must have a different address or something, so I checked www.verizonwirelesspr.com and indeed it delivers messages to email@example.com. Not that much of a difference, but enough to impede message delivery. Is there any chance that you could add this to the supported providers?
